Understanding our schedule
I frequently write these blogs for members of the gym to read (or for AI bots to read to help our website out on the google rankings 😁), but this blog is for those who want to know more about our classes at The Clinic. I get asked to describe our schedule a lot, so this blog should answer that question as we head into 2026.
Right off the bat I want to define open gym. Open gym is a time the building is open for members to use however they see fit. No classes are happening. You can hit the heavy bags, use the cardio equipment, lift weights, or whatever else you choose (within reason). Check out our blog about open gyms to learn more.
Then we have our Fundamentals classes. These are for all skill levels and are the most important classes we have. If the schedule just says Fundamentals class (as of right now it’s just day time classes that say this), it will be a mix of some pad work and some partner drills. Again this is designed for all levels and, if you are newer to Muay Thai, this is the only class we recommend doing at first.
On the schedule some Fundamentals classes have the subtitle of Pad Work or Partner Drills. These are both still Fundamentals classes designed for all level, but the focus is either pad work or partner drills.Pad work is great for fitness, offensive concepts, power development, and letting off steam. Partner drills are great for developing defense, balance, reactions, and control.
The other main classes we have on the schedule are our Advanced classes. These classes are far more situation-based and only recommended for those who have at least a few months of training. Sometimes we learn more advanced techniques, but, more often, we drill situations where you have to sharpen what you have learned in Fundamentals classes. We string a lot more offense and defense together, work on various tactics, and do a lot of clinch work.
You’ll also see Fight Team on our schedule. That is the only class that you can’t attend without talking to Kru Dustin first to determine if you’re ready. There’s nothing new taught in that class—it’s more to prepare those who want to get in the ring. It’s a lot more physical fitness through Muay Thai than anything else. In any given Fundamentals class you may throw 30 kicks, but in Fight Team we count by the 100s!
The last thing we have on our schedule is a women’s only class on Monday nights. This class is for anyone who lives their lives identifying as a woman. Nothing is different about this class other than it will only have women training in it. This is meant to provide a set night every week where our female members know they can get training in with other women.
Everything on our schedule (excluding Fight Team unless you have permission) is included with your membership unless you are on the Women’s only membership plan. We offer every full member the ability to train six days a week, morning (on certain days) and night. As we continue to grow, we’ll look to add more. I hope this helps, and I hope if you’re reading this wondering if you should try us out, you take the leap and schedule an intro lesson with us!
